I have never experienced a memorial or piece of art before that put my mind and heart into such a deep perspective places. The different aspects you could sense at the various areas of the memorial were genius. We did not go up in the dome but I thought it was funny how the people looked like bees in a hive! I'm glad they decided to rebuild after all those years! I like to describe it as a mix of NYC and DC because it has history, politics, culture, nightlife, everything. We bought a museum pass while we were there and saw as many museums as we could in one day. My favorite spot in the entire city was Gendarmenmarkt. It just loved how it felt sitting there, and I easily could have spent an entire day in that one spot. Stephen especially loved the Berliner Dom, and we visited nearly everyday. Even the tiny little people in the picture don't do justice to how big that thing is!

I agree that the wall is a must-see. I'd also add the Holocaust Memorial and Museum. Of course, Berlin is one of those places where you could never do it all or see it all. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
